Dr. Buja is a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in the University of Texas Health System as well as a Distinguished Teaching Professor and former Dean of the McGovern Medical School of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He received the Society for Cardiovascular Pathology’s Distinguished Achievement Award in 2009. In addition to his clinical responsibilities with the autopsy and cardiovascular pathology-focused surgical pathology and consultation services, Dr. Buja holds numerous notable extramural positions. Among these is as the Editor-in-Chief of Cardiovascular Pathology, the Society for Cardiovascular Pathology’s official journal.
We discuss Dr. Buja's path to academic success, as well as his advice for future generations of cardiovascular pathologists.

Dr. Glass is a cardiac and thoracic pathologist at Duke University. She initially trained as a vascular surgeon at the University of Rochester Medical Center, following which she received her Ph.D. in genomics and epigenetics. She then completed a residency in Anatomic Pathology and a Cardiothoracic Pathology fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, with an additional Thoracic Pathology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She currently serves as the Chief of Cardiovascular Pathology, Director of Duke University Hospital Autopsy Service, and the Co-Director of the Division of Artificial Intelligence and Computational Pathology.
We discuss the future of AI in cardiac pathology, as well as Dr. Glass's fascinating path to cardiovascular pathology.
